RTT Bridge
Equality in emergencies. No one left behind.
In a crisis, communication is the difference between a tragedy and a rescue. Our promise is simple: to ensure that the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and speech-impaired have the same immediate, reliable access to emergency services as everyone else. We provide the tools for everyone to be included. Our RTT Bridge is a modular solution that enables Next Generation Emergency Services to manage calls using built-in RTT in an emergency situation.
Life-saving speed Real-Time Text (RTT) allows dispatchers to read character by character while the caller is typing, shaving critical seconds off response times.
Maximum accuracy Eliminate the risk of misheard addresses or names in high-stress voice calls through simultaneous text and audio.
Full compliance Stay ahead of global mandates like the European Accessibility Act and NG911 requirements.

The Challenge
The Silence of Traditional Emergency Services
Standard emergency systems were built for voice. For millions of citizens, this creates a barrier. Standard SMS is "store-and-forward," which is too slow for an active crisis, and legacy TTY systems are fading into obsolescence. The problem is clear: our emergency infrastructure must be as diverse as the people it serves.

Our solution
Text for Emergency Services
nWise transforms the emergency call. We replace "voice-only" with real-time text. This isn't just an "add-on" feature; it is a fully integrated, carrier-grade solution that turns every emergency workstation into an inclusive lifeline.
How it works
Following standards
We lead the industry by adhering to the most rigorous global standards.
Emergency Services:
Fully compatible with Next-Generation emergency architectures. Compliant with ETSI standards.
RFC 4103, T.140 and RFC 9071:
The standard for Real-Time Text, ensuring text character transmission is instantaneous, and for multiparty calls.
SIP-Based Infrastructure:
Designed for seamless integration with modern IP networks and emergency service IP networks (ESInets).
Key features
No relays, no delays
-
Direct RTT-to-PSAP
No relays, no delays. Direct communication between the citizen and the dispatcher.
-
Resilient design
Built for high-availability environments where “downtime” is not an option.
How it works
Accessible emergency calls with RTT
Initiation The caller places an emergency call from an RTT-enabled mobile phone or device.
Connection The nWise RTT Bridge enables real-time text communication between callers and the emergency center’s existing call-handling platform.
Real-Time Text The dispatcher sees each character as it is typed and can respond immediately, creating a natural, two-way conversation without waiting for messages to be sent.
Emergency Response The dispatcher receives essential information directly from the caller and can coordinate the appropriate response quickly and efficiently.
FAQ
Why choose RTT instead of SMS for emergency communication?
RTT creates a continuous, real-time conversation. The call-taker sees each character as it is entered and can start understanding the situation immediately, without waiting for the caller to press “send.” The caller can communicate directly using an RTT-enabled device, without pre-registering for a separate service.
Can RTT be added to our existing PSAP environment?
Yes. The nWise RTT Bridge is a modular solution that integrates with existing architecture. Flexible deployment using virtual machines or containers helps PSAPs introduce RTT without replacing their entire communication infrastructure.
Can it meet the demands of emergency services?
Yes. The nWise RTT Bridge is built for carrier-grade, high-availability environments and supports standards developed for interoperable RTT communication. It gives emergency services a reliable and future-ready way to make communication more accessible.
